A good connection.
Your boundaries intact.
Move at your own pace. Prepare for an introduction, recognise concerning behaviour and find support.
Harm is never your fault. Precautions can reduce risk; they cannot control another person’s choices.
Before you meet
Keep early conversations in the app. Protect your address, routine and family details. Money requests, gift-card demands and investment pitches are reasons to stop and report.
Plan a first date
Choose a busy public venue, arrange your own journey home and tell someone your plans. Keep drinks and belongings with you. You can leave at any point; ask venue staff for help if needed.
Respect every boundary
Consent must be freely given and ongoing. A match, gift or previous yes never creates an obligation. Stop when someone is unsure or unable to consent. Discuss sexual health with a qualified clinician when you need guidance.
Dating while travelling
Consider local risks and your privacy before meeting. LGBTQ+ travellers can consult current guidance from ILGA World and trusted local organisations.

AVEN’s Photo Verified badge relates to photo verification. It is not proof of legal identity, age, intentions or criminal history. AVEN does not currently offer police-report screening or government-ID background checks. Keep the same boundaries with a verified profile.
Read our Privacy PolicyProtect your account
Keep passwords and one-time login codes private. Enter them only in the sign-in flow you opened yourself. A match does not need your verification code. Be cautious with links claiming to unlock your account or require payment to verify you.
Tell us what happened
Use the report or block options available on a member’s profile or conversation, or contact [email protected]. You can report concerns about an in-person meeting too. Share the profile name, approximate date and a brief account. Do not email passwords, login codes, ID documents or intimate images. Keep evidence securely and ask support how to provide it.
